April 6th 2008 aint another common day for FTN! - Contd...

Afternoon we visited Mukthi

Venue : Mukthi
Date : 6th April 2008
Time : 3.00 PM

This is an awesome place with 11 elderly inmates. All the lady inmates are homeless and helpless. Menon sir is the only male inmate, who lived there on his own expenses and also taking care of some of the official works of Mukthi. Recently we heard from Mukthi that Menon sir started living with his son again. That’s great news, but the remaining inmates? Are they going to get a home again? Are they going to get new relations again? Is there someone out there to spent time and money for them?

Yes, even a little time spent there make a big difference to them and no matter whatever designations we are in today, we cant predict how life turns out or worns out in a single day. So people be thankful for the lavish lives we have today and be nice to the needy. If not money, give some soothing words. Only people who are longing for care and affection, knows the value of relationships.

One of the inmates is a Kalamandalam Dance Teacher called Devakiamma. She was a proud single mother, because she lost his hubby at a young age and raised his only son with her earnings. Overnight she lost her only son and her grandson in an accident and she was left all alone, because her daughter-in-law cant take her along with her, due to some financial and family difficulties at her place. She is in her early sixties and she still remembers all the madras of mohiniattam :)
And she is not only a good singer; she is a good composer too. She sang a song for us about the moon, written by her. It was an elite and versatile one. All she need is jus a little bit of care and attention. All she need is someone who can communicate with her in her mother tongue.

Wake up guys................... I know its

Tough for all of us to spare one-day outta

our weekends, but atleast update us about

your availability, so that we can make the

events of FTN much better.....................................

A simple smile can change someone’s life, so people keep smiling; we might not know when we made a difference in other's lives.
