How often have we seen a child throwing tantrums for the latest gizmos, or the younger ones crying their hearts out for a triple sundae at popular hang outs like Baskin Robbins or McDonalds? And here we are about 20 strong, members of Feed The Nation, on a bright sunny weekend with 60 children of the same age who are deprived of parental care and a proper home.
Forget Sundae and Gizmos, these kids won’t even be able to choose an outfit or a meal of their liking, for once, in their life time and despite the fact that deep down in their minds they know that they are all alone they still sport a hearty smile…
Have you ever thought of
a childhood without the support of a family and home? Having to rely on complete strangers for basic upbringing… But how can we truly imagine such a life, when most of us have this luxury called parents, providing us with everything we need without any delay, always there for you when you are low…
At an age when they were supposed to be choosing an outfit of the latest fashion, they are out there on the streets struggling with ways to fill their hungry stomach. The disregard shown, to a kid who lost their parents, by his or her relatives and the society leaves a deep impact on their minds at this tender age itself, which leads him or her to go astray…
Fortunately there are some kind hands, who lift these children from dire straits to a safe haven, educate, counsel and prepare them for a secure future… this is what we saw at New Hope
Childrens Home & Nithya Jyothi E & D Trust. They work tirelessly to give 60 odd children a chance in life which they deserve, by teaching them proper etiquette and giving them good education by sending them to the best possible English medium school and shaping them to face the world.
Though life has dealt a raw deal to these children and they lost glitter
in their eyes, they do quickly pick up lines from the latest bollywood flicks and sing it out loud... The spirit of these children are so high that the songs sung by them only echoed in our ears as “Get ready World, here we come!”

Yes, the visit was really good, spent some quality time with the kids. This visit stood out because of good turnout. Also we got three new members...
